MFI – Riverside, is an integrated Outpatient behavioral (mental health and substance use disorders treatment) and physical health program funded by SAMHSA’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Expansion (CCBHC-E) grant project. This project targets pregnant and parenting women (referred to as perinatal women) with a special focus on individuals with serious mental illness (SMI); individuals with substance use disorders (SUD); children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance (SED); individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders (COD), and veterans with serious mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
We are located in Riverside and primarily serve clients from Riverside County, but we also serve clients from surrounding counties. We provide integrated outpatient mental health services to children and adults; outpatient SUD treatment services to adults; and provide linkage to primary care medical services. Transportation services are also available to enrolled clients.
Clients are provided peer and social support resources/linkage including relapse prevention, and groups focusing on trauma, and other acute mental health disorders, substance abuse, and anger and violence.
MFI accepts all consumers presenting for services at two convenient times and by appointment every week, allowing every person and inquiry to receive a screening for admission within any given week with formal services beginning by the following week. Screenings and assessments, conducted by counselors and therapists, are trauma informed, and trauma-specific.
MFI has groups for mental health and substance use disorder scheduled throughout the day. Individual services are available through face-to-face or telehealth contact between a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Peer Support, or Licensed Clinical Therapist by appointment. Bi-lingual staff are available.
MFI’s outpatient clinic primary care screening and monitoring of key health indicators and health risk upon intake. Clients are also provided medication support services for evaluation of psychotropic medication, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for tobacco, alcohol, and opioid use disorders, and long-acting injectable antipsychotic medication.
MFI alcohol and drug counselors or master’s level therapists performing case management duties provide linkage that can include needs such as: Chemical Dependency and Rehabilitative Needs, Medical, Legal, Social, Education, Employment and Financial.
24/7 crisis management services are provided 365 days per year, including access to on-call licensed Clinician/Supervisor, suicide risk assessment, and psychiatric hospitalization if needed.
